MNNF RCRDS Announces Multi-hyphenated Japanese Artist, OdAkEi’s Alt-Electro Earworm, ‘PSYCHO’
MNNF RCRDS (Mononofu Records) has announced the latest release of multi-hyphenated Japanese artist, OdAkEi’s single, ‘PSYCHO’.
OdAkEi’s latest single, ‘PSYCHO’, is an alternative-electronic dance track that grabs your attention with boppy synth riffs from the beginning. Underscored by the repeated growl of "I am a psycho", OdAkEi delivers quick-witted quips about his philosophy of life in an unrelenting tempo, cementing this song as the OdAkEi-style anthem of 2022. The single was produced by the head of MNNF, Ryosuke "Dr.R" Sakai, who is known for his numerous productions in Japan and abroad including US artist, Poppy’s album ‘Poppy.Computer’, while the lyrics were written by Yui Mugino, who has written many hit songs for milet and NiziU.
The accompanying music video for ‘PSYCHO’ shows OdAkEi throwing everything and the kitchen sink into this psychedelic visual treat. Featuring a whimsical dance and much more, the intense colors and imaginative imagery brings the vision of ‘PSYCHO’ to a shocking, vibrant life while showcasing all the charms of "OdAkEi the Entertainer".
Well known to most in the Japanese social media circle, OdAkEi, has garnered over 1.3 million subscribers in one of his YouTube channels which previously boasted explosive popularity among the new generation of youngsters, especially high school girls and college students. Since launching his music career in 2021, his first single ‘6’ reached #12 on the Japanese iTunes all-genres chart. As part of the artist roster in MNNF RCRDS, OdAkEi’s recognition as a musician is rapidly on the rise with his continuous efforts in music releases including, ‘SHOCKER’, ‘33’ and ‘9 Lives’ with beatbox crew, SARUKANI, to name a few.
OdAkEi will be performing at Thailand’s Thai - Japan Iconic Music Festival from 21- 23 October 2022. This will be OdAkEi’s first performance outside of Japan. To round off the year, OdAkEi will be performing at a series of showcases in Japan which includes Mega★Rocks, Sendai and THREE WAVES vol.2, Shibuya WWW.
